Julia Murney will star as Tami in Deanna Jent's new play Falling. Directed by Lori Adams, the production will begin perfomances September 27 at off-Broadway's Minetta Lane Theater. Opening night is set for October 15. The cast will also include Daniel Everidge as Josh, Celia Howard as Grammy Sue, Daniel Pearce as Bill and Jacey Powers as Lisa.
The play follows an autistic 18-year-old named Josh (Everidge). When a relative comes to visit, his entire family is thrown off their equilibrium, with each member trying to balance what is best for the family with their own personal interests.
Murney has appeared on Broadway in Wicked and Lennon. Her off-Broadway credits include Closer Than Ever, The Wild Party, Saved and Time and Again. Everidge has appeared on Broadway in Grease and off-Broadway in Fat Camp. Howard's off-Broadway credits include Fortinbras, Heathen Valley and Casserole. Pearce has appeared on Broadway in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and off-Broadway in King Lear, Measure for Measure, Henry V and Love's Fire. Powers' off-Broadway credits include Our Town, Pinkalicious and Picking Up.
Falling will feature set design by John C. Stark, costume design by Tristan Raines, lighting design by Julie Mack, sound design by Raymond Schilke and fight choreography by Rick Sordelet.
